Business Process Improvement
Outsourced Process Improvement PDF Print E-mail

Many organisations have spent considerable time and effort to prepare process maps in Visio. Once the immediate need for the process maps are satisfied the repository is often poorly maintained, ignored and in some cases lost.

To understand a business process is to know:

Annualised volume

Number of time the process is triggered a year

Head count

The total number of full time equivalents (FTE) required in the process to meet the annual volume. This includes a breakdown of the skill types

Weighted average work time

The total time of effort required to complete 1iteration of the process. This drives the staffing requirement

Weighted average cycle time

The total ‘clock’ time of effort required to complete 1iteration of the process. This drives customer service and service level agreements (SLA)

Activity based cost (ABC)

This is the preferred process sequence within the alternative paths within a process

Weighted average cost

This is the aggregate of the ABC based on volume by path. It directly influences gross margin and pricing.

The impact of this loss is significant. There is a loss of organisational knowledge and a huge increase in unnecessary costs in recruitment, training, processing, compliance and technology management.

Our service offerings:
1: A series of BPR reports - based on client data - nothing generic
2. Publication of the business processes in a hosted HTML model.

The way it works

You send us your process maps.  We accept most formats – PDF, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, Word. You can use fax, mailed hard copy, email or you can login to our website and upload your the process maps directly.

We recapture the process map and send you a spreadsheet to collect any outstanding process information. The information we ask for is relevant to the report you are seeking. We anticipate that it will take 40 minutes to complete the spreadsheet. We would be very happy to guide you through the process online via GoToMeeting

Choose the type of report you want. (Contact us)

Report 1: Business Process Improvement. - Quick Wins (Click here for example reports)

This report analyses the current mode of operation and recommends plausible quick win actions for incremental improvements to process efficiency. Typically we identify actions that will deliver savings of between 10% and 30% without the need for additional investment. The report includes a table that details expected changes to processing cost, time and head count. Please click here for a overview of the methodology.

The fixed fee for this report is AUD$750.00 (ex GST).

Report 2: Business Process Improvement - A Comprehensive Review
This report extends the ‘quick wins’ report in that it delivers a comprehensive review of the current mode of operation and recommends a range of actions for improving process efficiency.

The analysis includes investigating the impact of re-engineering based on the application of information technology solutions such as imaging, workflow and document management.

Expected savings will range from 20% to 50%. As more processes are enabled by the recommended new technologies, then the time for a return on investment shortens and the overall savings increase.

The final report includes:
1.A proposed future mode of operation for the process
2.A detailed benefits table including expected changes to processing cost, time and head count
3.A detailed investment guide to make the recommended changes
4.An implementation plan.

Should you already have considered options for process improvement that you would like us to model as part of our analysis; then we would very happy to address them in our report.

The fee for this report is dependent on what you want to achieve with the document and how many processes are included in the report.

Hosting the Model

If required we can consolidate the processes into a model of the business architecture that is hosted in a secure environment. A significant outcome of hosting business architecture is that any initiatives around knowledge, compliance, risk and performance management etc , are institutionalised and socialised throughout the organisation. It creates a single source of the truth.
